Look, guns don't kill people. People kill people. Taking guns away won't make them not kill.
And you can't take guns away any more than you can stop cocaine or meth. Just look at how expensive and (relatively) fruitless the drug war has been.
Plus, we need guns so the government fears us. The second amendment was very much made to allow for armed rebellion. I'm not a fan of violence, but the government should fear its people. That fear keeps us free.
