If I had to take a wild guess, I’d say “upper 25%” might refer to chest (and up) and “chubby” in this context could mean “big boobs” which together with the “pls” would form a request for a large-breasted version. :P

I think I’ve Read Somewhere™ that mail was more or less self-cleaning, what with all the rings rubbing together all the time, so I’d expect gilding or brazing to wear out pretty quickly even out of combat…

Not very long, but depends on where the mail is. The more it bends, the faster gilding would wear out. Though it would be less noticeable than battle damage.

Just like steel isn’t a single alloy, even though it’s defined by a single compound (FeC), bronze is defined by CuSn (not SnCu, that’s pewter).

I’ve had a casual fascination with smithing recently, and at first I was quite surprised to find out bronze isn’t a single alloy…

Yeah, I suppose switching the material could work, but telekinetically picking up dollops of molten metal, shaping it into interlocking rings and holding it all in place in the air until the latest rings solidify would look so much cooler! X)

Only some specific bronze alloys can be forged, the rest is forge-hardened instead. Same result as with tempering steel, except more effort.
 
…And then you get stuff like beryllium bronze, which is a bronze that has physical properties competing with stainless steel.

Orrr said skilled unicorn smiths could shape the chainmail out of a different material and then switch said material with a block of cast bronze, effectively “transmuting” the chainmail. They tried telekinesis. It was stupid.

For what it’s worth, I meant to indicate that I looked at bronze age armour in order to determine what form factors were reasonable when one had only light coverage, rather than intending it to be period accurate. At least in terms of what material properties I’m using for the rendering engine, the armour is actually made of gold… which would be silly. But… magical god princess. ¯*(ツ)*/¯

After a bit of searching, it turns out bronze can be forged, though I get the impression it’s a bit tricky.  
I still like the idea of telekinetically cast seamless mail rings, though. :P

It bears noting, though, that chainmail is an iron age invention and basically impossible (or at least really impractical) to make out of bronze -bronze is cast, not forged, and you can’t cast interlocked rings in the amounts needed for mail- so if it were me designing a suit of bronze age-themed armor, I’d probably use leather-backed scales for the abdominal section and a leather pteruges.
 
Then again, this is a fantasy setting where magic exists, so I suppose a group of skilled unicorn smiths could painstakingly form the mail from molten bronze with telekinesis over a few weeks – which seems kind of fitting for royal armor, actually.
 
Yes, on second thought, the rank-and-file can keep the scales and leather skirts, royalty wears armor cast with magic! :D

Yes it is, actually. I wanted to make armour that was a bit skimpy and sexy, but also not totally stupid, and (for various reasons) bronze age greek/mediterranean armour was a good source of references for having relatively light body coverage while still providing protection.
 
I’ll probably ALSO do a stupid sexy version, of course. :)
