Yes toon boom is also something I am looking into, very pricey so I will have to figure that out as for Manga Studio I have never heard of that but I will defiantly look into it.

Sounds pretty good, I used to use Photoshop till about a year and a half ago. If your saving up for a program, id advise avoiding Photoshop IMO. Yes it does have a large variety tools at your disposal but it is not an inherent drawing program, it’ll take your raw pen input which isn’t very good when it comes to this sort of thing.

I myself primarily use ‘Clip Studio Paint’ (also known as ‘Manga Studio 5’) and a bit of ‘Affinity Designer’ (which is a lot like Adobe Illustrator, but for Macs and is way cheaper). I have also heard a lot of people walking away from flash and using a program called ‘Toon Boon’ (though it does look a little pricey O_O’ )

Maybe ask on the forums here and other people for their thoughts on what they use as it’ll give you a good insight on what to spend your money on.

I’m rambling now and I’m sure you’d rather not hear it anymore so I’ll just say:

Love the style & keeping going, would love to see more of it.

I have accutally used gimp before, but I found it rather trouble to make it work for me. Spent an hour working on it and frankly I now just use it for tuch ups. Suchs as blending colors. And GIMP has a rather weird format on my computer which isn’t able to upload to most things. I often have to get a screen shot and find that and it just a lot of trouble for me.
I am frankly saving my money and going to aim for Paint Tool Sai, or Photoshop paint. Hoping to get into animation some day, I have a drawing pad but I lost the ability to use it when my computer quit working so I am also having to re order that soft ware thanks to one of my lil brother snapping the disk I need to download the software in half….

Just wondering mostly. If your using a school computer, you might want to consider looking at GIMP Portable. You install and run the application from a usb stick. The program is free and is much better for drawing than MS Paint, you would have way more control on your drawings.

Also if you feel your hand drawn stuff is pretty good, you can scan it into GIMP and use the ‘Pen Tool’ to draw the line art with a mouse. You would be basically vectoring your work, making each line as perfect as you would want them and you could use your home computer as well (if you have one).

Your style is nice to look at, but you can see that the drawings are restricted due to the application you use. Look up ‘GIMP drawing’ on youtube and see if its up your street.
