It also didn't appear in my watch list since I am still watching the original tag. In contrast when someone moved the tag "Damp Rocks" to "Comic:Damp Rocks", it retained all it's watchers and it's history (seen when you click on "changes").
But I don't know how tags are moved or it's even something anyone can do (maybe it's an administrator thing), so I don't blame the original user that made the move.
