This medallion was created in honor of the Pegasus Bronies who align themselves with the princess of the night. The New Lunar Republic is a faction whose core beliefs are of freedom, comradery, and equality. These themes heavily influenced all the designs of the Lunar coins. Being the rebels against the status quo, aggressiveness was another theme. To that effect, the front design features a squadron that was named after a fierce creature of the night sky. In the center of the design is a pair of pegasi silhouetted against a crescent moon. One pegasus has feathered wings, and the other has bat wings, symbolizing equality. Below the pair is a blue symbol representing all the lunar air squadrons, which was inspired by the American Air Force symbol. On the reverse side is a likeness of the princess of the night with the abbreviation for the New Lunar Republic, and in Latin is their main creed; “Night’s Liberty.”
