Try any look at it this way: Spike right now is… what, 13, 14 years old? That probably makes him an adult in pony years. Dragons do have a different lifespan than ponies

^ spike acts and talks like a 12 years old (ok hes called a baby draggon, thats kind of irritating).
rarity is like in her early twentys. thats maybe a 8 years age different and thats absolutely tollerable for me. just give spike a bit time to grow up
