I don’t know! Souls don’t really exist and neither does immortality, so it’s impossible to find out for real.
But it might be like the greek gods; they were able to live forever and had supreme power but they could be killed, it’s just very hard to do.
But that raises another question entirely. Is it the body that is immortal or merely the soul of the person?
Like you said if the body dies, what’s stopping that person from inhabiting another?
And then what happens to that soul? Does that person die? Do they share the body?
The soul might live on and find a new host like anubis in stargate.
