Once programming is done, all I need is MIDI.
Editing on the device is out of question because the only place where I could mount it is so low that it’s easier to reach by foot than by hand.
I actually also have a USB card, I need to use a Windows XP virtual machine to get it to connect to ak.sys and it’s very dodgy (it likes to suddenly stop working with my computer in the middle of a project, which is only fixed by restarting the sampler itself) so I’m considering putting together an external SCSI solution using a SCSI2SD card.
I remote-control and fill mine via the USB interface I’m glad to have in it. Or at least I try because it doesn’t like too long USB cables.
ah okay, thanks
The Vortex is connected to my computer as a controller, and every instrument in my setup is connected to said computer with MIDI. In addition to my hardware synths I also have a library of VSTi soft synths to work with.
mhm but when its wireless then what device makes the noise in your setup?
The black Vortex is wireless, you must have the wired version.
In what kind of device is it plugged in? I have the vortex but currently I can only plug it into my computer and get ableton to generate the sounds.
Thank you! It’s a great controller for when you want to just lay back and mess about.
On the far left side of the picture you can see the back of a plush penguin.
