well, if we’re going to be talking definitions, the term cuckolding is almost always misused.  
The correct meaning of cuckolding has nothing to do with adultery/cheating or partners being stolen away.  
Cuckolding is a fetish, some even say life style, in which the woman is ALLOWED to sleep with other men, while the man stays monogamous. The keyword is “allowed”, since this is a consensual thing, the man is ok with it. As such, it is not cheating since it has the husband’s approval. Often, the men who the woman sleeps with is chosen by the couple together. And usually the husband is present, watching the sex, or nearby listening to it, or if he isn’t present he will be told about it later in great detail and maybe even with pictures. Sometimes there’s humiliation of the husband involved, but it’s not a necessity.  
As you can see, the phrase “getting cucked” in common slang is in fact totally wrong since it just means “being cheated upon”.
