To me, the character talking is just icing on the cake. That they added her in at all was just super nice of them.

I agree it was very sweet, and a rare thing you see in cartoons. I hear Disney’s old ‘90s “Little Mermaid” TV series did something similar, but her character didn’t talk.

I know it’s been a while now, but man, I’m still really proud of the show’s staff for doing this; it’s incredibly heartwarming.
 
It doesn’t hurt that Angel Wings actually was funny whenever she switched who her favorite pony ever was.

The… Oh, right, I suppose Pinkie’s and Flutter’s are techincally over 30 years old. Actually, I’ve sort of just realized not very many OCs nor more recent official characters have the classic 7-symbol cutie mark, now updated to the simplified 3-symbol cutie mark in 2010. :3

I will never fault anyone for their cutie mark (outside of when it’s some laughably non-canon thing like a minecraft/zelda/other popular video game mark) because at least they have an idea what theirs would be.

“heart with wings” is still kinda generic. Just sayin’.

It’s not apparent from this pic, but her cutie mark is actually a heart with wings. It’s hard to see them in most scenes.

Chill dude, no need to get so defensive. I only ever post as anonymous because names aren’t important, only the content of post.  
Anyway she has a youtube channel and I can’t remember which video it was but I could have sworn in one of them she mentioned heart surgeries.

She is, she has leukemia from what I readed in the Make a Wish homepage, I would never make negative marks of someone ill that is extremely wrong, I work with health care to start with.
 
A heart is generic; given her entire look is actually very pretty and cute the cutie mark really is her “weakest” point, which isn’t any issue or complaining it was just a note from my side, perhaps her OC didn’t even have a cutie mark in the first place and so DHX just picked it since she’s “lovely”?
