Yeah, I never had much faith in the M1 Carbine.  
Plus most models don’t have a bayonet lug. He did however suggest the M1 Garand as well. That would be my weapon of choice. Simple, heaps of stopping power, bayonet lug, ammo is very common, and very reliable.

I have 5 zombie plans!  
Plan 1. Follow whatever procedures may be put in place by the government with as many friends and family members as possible.  
Plan 2. Head for Dover, steal a boat and sail to a deserted island, only coming onto england’s shores ever again for food and feul for the boat.  
Plan 3. Head to royal navy base and stowaway onto a sealiner or an aircrarrier, only eating at night.  
Plan 4. Head for local shopping center and set up shelter in storeroom of a charity shop I did work experience in, using a television and a laptop to keep myself sane and to get updates on the situation, leave the shelter once a week to find food and weapons for the week, bring as many friends and family as possible, in the event of someone getting infected, send them off with a walkie-talkie to find other spots for shelter before they turn into the mindless undead. (I like this one the best.)  
Plan 5. Help any surviving friends and family with their plans if they have any.

Not really, besides, I knew a guy who took a .22 round to the leg and couldn’t use it for 6 months.

As far as I’m concerned, if it can cripple a limb in one shot or kill instantly with a headshot, it’s a viable weapon.
 
.45 caliber weapons can do that. and a lot of people in the U.S. own .45’s and stock a generous helping of ammunition for them.

It’s not really a must read, I found some of the “Important” stuff basically useless, plus weapon selection was fucked up beyond belief, If your opponent can’t feel pain you need a lot of stopping power (Think .45 APC and .308 Winchester) to shut off their motor functions, and .30 Carbine isn’t exactly known for it’s stopping power, plus there is about 3 guns that fire that caliber.

It is pretty good, but some of the points, like using a shaolin spade a s a melee weapon, are kinds dumb.

That book is written like a military survival manual. It takes itself completely seriously and is a fascinating read. I hope every brony has a zombie plan =P

The filly Twilight is actually part of the Anti-zombie kit, for stopping them with the power of cuteness alone.
