The only princess students we have seen so far are Twilight Sparkle and Starlight Glimmer, and maybe Sunset Shimmer as a former student.  
Each them are studying to become better at magic, like Twilight and Starlight Glimmer are both studying the magic of friendship with the intent to apply it to friendship problems.  
Sunburst is more like a princess assistant? I guess? He’s using his vast knowledge of magic from reading too many books to apply them to unique problems and he’s whatever that Crystal Empire royal baby sitter thing that I forgot the title to in the last season opener. Something.  
Anyways my thought was that if Princess Cadance were to have a student, that student would be studying the magic of love, right? A royal shipping apprentice basically.

This sounds like a reason for Twilight to go evil.

I would actually like to see Celestia die one day. Not because I don’t like her, but because having a mentor die is more often than not an extremely useful plot device. Even then, mentor types still hang around: Obi-Wan, Mike Franks of NCIS, both Phil Coulson and Nick Fury are considered dead depending on the parties involved. X3

The were two hints about Luna beoming interested in Starlight Glimmer, during the second dream, and during the end, but she was interrupted by Chrysalis. Maybe is her who turn Starlight into an alicorn in a future Season (since I doubt Twilight can do something like that).

God, how depressing an episode it would be when the main six is with Starlight instead of Twilight. The day is saved and everyone hugs each other and the camera pans to Twi with just a dejected look on her face. The day she realizes she was usless. Then the rest of the season just shows her in a slow descent of depression as she stays locked up in the castle and the show focuses more on Starlight. The season finale has Twilight coming to the rescue only to not be able to help, then the girls get a power-up without her and save the day. The episode ends with Twilight crying in her room with Spike hunched over next to the door as the Party Pinkie is throwing can be heard from downstairs.

Does this mean the other 5 can finally be useful without Twilight stealing their thunder?

Btw is there anyone here who can tell if in this screen shot does Twilight’s horn seem to be larger than Starlight Glimmers? She looks taller, but I remember someone awhile ago pointing out that her horn seems bigger…

Retire her from royal duty would be enough, It’d be less problematic having Twilight do her role as they further develop on Starlight.
