You know how it goes, Zeb. One person makes a necropost, another who was part of the conversation takes issue with the original message of the comic (the idea of Twilight’s appointment having anything to do with nepotism) then… well I don’t actually know what happened after that. I feel like I was the last one to make a comment relevant to the comic. Afterwards things devolved into whether characters were properly punished for things? It got weird.

The hell does any of what you guys are arguing about have to do with this image?

And the Amulet? Is stated canonically to alter the mind of the one using it, if she was held responsible for all of that I’m calling full and utter bullshit on Twilights mental breakdowns and all the other “not in the right mind” moments of the entire main cast, so bite me there.

There is actually legal precedent for shows and movies that involve certain behavior being held legally responsible. Why do you think we don’t show smoking in a positive light any more?
 
And yes, if someone holds a show in public, with no security, and moreover if they invite crowd participation by boasting you can do anything better than they can, then yes, you’d better bet you’re going to get hecklers, because you literally asked for them. It’s a vital part of her show to have ponies heckle her, so stop acting like the six were in the wrong for that.
 
But here’s the thing you keep ignoring. Nopony chased her off. If she’d stuck around, apologized, helped clean up, she would have gotten help in turn. She ran. As you can see in season six and beyond, ponies are forgiving. She lives in Ponyville without issue. The only real repercussion she had for all of her bad behavior was that Twilight was nervous to have her befriend Starlight, because Starlight already had enough problems without encouragement. She never went to jail for using an evil artifact, she was never held responsible for her part in the circumstances of the monster attack, she just made a bad name for herself for her own actions.

Congratulations,Now again, try that excuse in real life and see how far it gets you.  
If you have the option to leave and not start a fight and you don’t take it, congrats, you are an asshole who cares more about being right then anything else.  
Even more so when it’s a travelling fucking magician. I know in modern times theres a big thing about theatres and convention halls, but in the time frame of the show and the group of performers Trixies’s styled after method wise? Thats what they bloody did.  
They show up, put on a show in whatever stage they can manage and get paid by the audiance as they deem fit before buggering off onto their next destination.  
And no, the problem arose when two frankly mentally handicapped foals where allowed into the aformentioned monster capital of the planet. By crappy, negligent parents and a crappy group of townsfolk.  
Trixie tried to fight back but low and behold, couldn’t, lost everything she owned, had her reputation and career destroyed, and the two whelps responsible got rewarded after putting the entire town in danger.  
Which I call absolute bull on.  
The fact they even knew where to find the bear in the first place say more about how shoddy the towns protections are if it’s that bloody close to a populated area.

Never said it was entirely her fault, but somehow those kids went x number of years without luring a space bear into town, then Trixie shows up with her tall tales. It was the perfect storm of fuck.

See aforementioned space bear below. The unsupervised kids are only a problem when there aren’t dangerous deadly animals around who can be lured into town for the ‘strong man’ to defeat. She was doing fine with the ‘anything you can do I can do better’ bit because she could actually do some tricks to show ponies up. The problem arose when she made a boast well beyond her.

If you go around shouting about how you are bulletproof eventually someone is going to test your claim. Trixie didn’t sell tickets, book a hall, she just showed up and said “Look at my balls! Everyone in the town! Look at them!” You can’t bitch about being heckled if your performance is out in the open. And what I mean about the wrong town is that Ponyville just so happens to be monster capital of Equestria. Don’t scream about how you kill space bears when they have space bears within walking distance.

She’s still not in the right to heckle a performer, even more so since most lie through teeth by principle of how slight of hand and magic tricks are done.  
The entire point is to awe and astound through deciet and misdirection, so I guess an entire range of careers’ are suddenly bad and inherently evil because of the Element of Honesty.

Wrong town? Ponyville was only the wrong town in the sense that they don’t supervise their kids. Every CMC episode but one was Rugrats. Trixie being a performer is not a crime. Neither is having an act that involves tall-tales.
 
You’d think Applejack would at least have appreciated, or even recognized, a tall-tale when she heard one. That episode still makes me question her country credentials. What kind of farmer/rancher/rodeo star doesn’t get yarn spinning?

Suri was in the wrong but so where the mane cast, can’t excuse hypocrisy and letting one side off while the other gets punished for less.  
Flim and flam didn’t cheat. Nowhere was there a limit put on the machine. And barring that, they were winning because the machine worked. They were right, and Applejack called in the equivalent to a full fleet of tractors to go against one.  
I’m sorry you seem to think the contest of quantity had a clause on quality, even more so when taking Twilight, literally a god amongst Unicorns, out of the equation would’ve left the Apple family dead in the water.  
As for those who want to complain of the contract?  
It’s called bartering, any half brained salesman and buisness owner should know how to do that, the fact that applejack didn’t shows more how naive she is without any real competition in Ponyville.

Trixie created a problem by pulling her strongman act in the wrong town and getting called on it. Noone chased her off. She ran off. Same thing after the alicorn amulet.  
Suri got caught cheating and lost a contest. I somehow doubt she couldn’t do business anywhere in the world.  
Flim and Flam cheated at a contest they were already winning, and lost because of it.

Exactly. Consequences don’t truly exist in that world. Try to make a night that lasts forever, try to change history, in the end so long as you agree to stop the bad thing or are forcibly stopped all is more or less forgiven. Hell, Trixie was forgiven as well, but that didn’t mean ponies forgot what she did. I would expect Rainbow is probably not welcome in the weather factory, but beyond that, I wouldn’t expect her to be punished because noone really is.

Correction, she ran from an angry mob after two colts decided to lure a wild beast of their own volition, not on her orders, and lost all her property, and was black listed to the point of having to work on the Pies rock farm.  
Adding to that, go to a stand up show and start heckling the performers. See how long it takes to get insulted or tricked into making a fool of yourself, or flat out being asked to leave, none of the mane cast were in the right to start with.  
Flim and Flam lost buisness deals, ie tgeir income, despite winning on the terms of the deal, adding to that how many farms have one of both the strongest earthponies and unicorns to work on their property? The machine was fine, Applejack as usual has a sense of pride that leaves her blind to good opurtunities.  
Suri was blacklisted,stripped of her proffession.  
Ruining a reputation does more then make people look bad.  
Meanwhile, we have Twilight brainwashing an entire town, Fluttershy out right assaulting reandom ponies, massive property damage from Rainbow and Applejack both, and they get off with a sorry, or even less.  
And no, writing letters isn’t anywhere near proportionate to the entire fiasco of the want it need it spell.

Trixie chose to run off rather than face what she started. She got a rep for being a troublemaker but was otherwise not punished. Flim and Flim also got a rep. Suri got a rep. None of them really were punished beyond ponies knowing they were problems.

All because a bunch of lazy magical rocks decided they wanted her and her 5 tag alongs as their glorified palbearers.  
Say what you want, a lot of people, me included are flat out sick and tired of the mane 6’s messiah complex and ability to never face consequences.  
Me personally because I’ve dealt with people like that in real life and from the deepest darkest pits of my heart I want them dead at this point, and reinforcing the concept of idolizing someone for things they have minimal control over doesn’t earn you much loyalty or respect from me.
