Ok yes this is somewhat true, there was a heavy crushing omance boys angle to a few episodes it wasn't like it was every single one. Tales actually had an ongoing relationship in it between the characters Teddy and Sweetheart that actually developed and grew, as much a it could in a early 90s girls show. However most of the episode where focused on the girls doing silly slice of life things really.


 
While it isn't nearly as good as 'n Friends when it comes to story IMO (though one or two come close, and peoples milage may vary) it's strong point is in it's characters and the potential I think the show had. You could see them setting up things and they had characters come back and change and develop but it was either squandered by the writers themselves or, more likely, by what was expected of that kind of show at the time and other production things (and being canceled).

Ok yes this is somewhat true, there was a heavy romance angle to a few episodes it wasn't like it was every single one.
