Guess that explains it. And it’s pretty disturbing. Homosexuals are considered a problem in Russia, at least for the government, but tasteless jokes like that one up there are perfectly okay.

Anyways, the Soviet space program’s engineers thought that hypergolic propellants (a type of fuel with some very desirable attributes from an engineering point of view) were unsuitable for human spaceflight, because their most attractive property from an engineering standpoint also means they’re extremely toxic. However, when Soviet program directors pointed out that NASA used these propellants, they had to concede.
 
So, at least some care. But as a whole, their program still lost more astronauts (mostly thanks to Soviet politics), and their history is riddled with snippets that hint at what you’re saying. :q
 
Moral of the story: engineers are awesome, politicians aren’t.

Seriously, though, it’s one of those throw-away jokes that’s mostly shock humor when you suddenly notice the burial tools. Of course there’s no reason they’d want to kill Scoots. They’re too young to even think of insurance money ploys or even want boyfriends or anything.

I’ll take Bulk serosly because I don’t think his fligth mechanics are only considerable as something that goes against the fundamental understanding of pegsus fligth or that he is somehow beyond the rules of pony reality for unknown reasons. Bulks properties are simply showing how in Equestria while physical matters (such as his girth and weigth)do play a role in their universal structure,supernatural concepts such as the Inate pegesus flight capacity when properly in effect can override the laws of physics(he barley flapped in any manner that could acieve thrust and lift yet he still atained them anywayif barely) and biology.
 
Pound cake case is probably more perplexing than Bulks since the only thing that justifed his fligth was “Inate pegesus magic burst”. Magic is the greatest player in the workings of ponyverse which is why it bothers me no one saw fit to think of it when Scootloo’s fligth flops are concerned.
 
I don’t think I’ve dissmed any cause of Scootloo’s predicament other than confidence as she obviosly wants to fly and believes she can do it. It could very well be nerves or some brain problem or just some missing feathers. I would like to think the show would try to give a satisfactory reason but most likely they will just either never adress it in canon or claim ingnorance as you said.

I don’t think psychosomatic problems are strictly limited to cinfidence, though I’m not well-versed in such things.
 
And I didn’t actually say to throw Bulk Biceps out. On the contrary, he could indicate that their understanding of flight has a fundamental flaw somewhere and needs to be reevaluated… Or that he is exempt from the normal rules for whatever reason, which could be a question with interesting implications. If you want to take him seriously, go ahead.
 
And if it comes up on the show, the answer will likely be “nopony has a bucking clue”. If they do name a cause, it’ll probably be a simple one that you’ve already dismissed, because kids watch this. But again, highly unlikely to be addressed in canon at all.

I was not implying that wings are insignificant I’m certain a pegesus wings hold signifant navigational and aredoyamic properties in fligth as well as serving as the primary output limb(think unicorn horn or Earth pony legs) for pegesi magic in relation to their ability.
 
I’m just don’t see her as wings being the complete source of her problem here. To me her problem is likely to be primarily a magical one,an imbalance of a sort. Of course she could have both confidence and Neural problems as well,I never said she couldn’t but no one ever seems to bring up magical imbalance as a possible source. Thats why I disagree with the throwing away of bulk biceps properties as a joke because he such a good example of how powerful Pegesi magic can be even for ponies lacking fligth Cutiemarks,cheap card contex writers be dahmed. I’ve yet to see your thoughts of the fligth of the infant Pound cake who was explicatly was stated by Twiligth to have flown by “a burst of early pegasus magic”.  
However In the sense of the show if Scootloo ever does have her problem looked at for the sake of the presumed young audience it will be likely waved off a magical problem since anything with nerves and such would probaly just confuse kids.
 
Her confidence issues were addressed in that episode with the hearts and the horses so that’s unlikely to be a plausible factor either. I’m just saying Equestria is a world where phyics and biology take a back seat to magic and whatnot more often than not . It doesn’t rule out neurological problems yes but to consider them as the primary issue seems…too much for Scoots outside of a well done fanfic.
 

 
@Cirrus Light I have no idea how to apply thrust and lift to them little ponies. I mean Scootloo’s wings are certainly powerful. I’m sure she takes care of them and preens her wings and what not so their in top condition. I suppose one could watch how zipperwheel moved all over the place and use it as a contex for how Lift and thrust works at least for foals.
