That seems to be a running theme in the Equestria Girls series. The magic of friendship isn’t nearly as friendly as one would expect from the name, at least not in Humanland.
This is just a dream, so there’s really no restriction on her size here. I’m pretty sure she was the same size as regular Twilight when she actually transformed, though.
This sounds absolutely nothing like a benevolent source of energy.
That’s shit I expect out of fel magic. Or communion with the elder gods. or drugs.

It seems that supercharging someone with friendship magic without being considered “worthy” enough will just turn them into an evil version of themselves. And said evil self will apparently be insane enough to think plans like getting rid of the sun or trying to take over the world with a prom’s worth of teenagers are good ideas.
Harmony magic? Looks more like the Eye of Terror to me!

Right, but Sunset still chose to be evil and was actively evil for a little over either 2.5 or 5 years, while Twilight just kind of went nuts for a few minutes. So between the two, I’d think that Sunset’s inner demons would be worse.
Twilight never had evil in her in the first place.
It was just raw harmony magic.
Remember Sunset literally had the evil blasted out of her by the elements. That didn’t happen to Twilight.
