Celestia: “At least I’ll now have a friend to chat with whenever I visit Appleloosa.”
Cadance: “Sure, ‘chat.’ I see what sort of friendship this is…”
Celestia: “…Shhhhh… ”
She had probably taken measures against that. “Preventative spells” like what was mentioned in another picture from this artist. >>805882
Lines like “Don’t ask the question you don’t want answers to” or “I see what kind of friendship this is” isn’t ambiguous, it barely even passes as coy, its very hard to write ambiguity with the questionable character’s interaction.
An easier way to pull off ambiguity is for say Cadence to come to a realization after Celestia is gone.
I never understood the whole Villain X Hero ship, but I guess that Tia X Discord could count, so take what I say with a grain of hay. Also, Foe said the she tried to make it ambiguous, but admitted that she failed at that part.
Fair point, could be worse though, like trying to use foe-yay as a premise.
@SilFoe
“No ship sailing” yet heavily implied sexual encounters… Strange definition of shipping.
I wasn’t trying to make fun of anyone’s ship, I was just bringing up that the ambiguous couldn’t work since we are too ship-happy.
This is something I was talking about in the previous drawing and something I would agree here.
While I agree the attempts at shipping are eye-roll worthy, I like Silfoe’s art and really they can do as they please, Silfoe isn’t obligated to anyone by any means.
I remember there being a story about why Zoologists don’t stimulate the male elephants manually when they’re looking for a sperm sample.
Apparently the guy got a black eye. Guess how?
Man, Troubleshoes’ entire bit is that he can’t take a dozen steps without wrecking something. Do you even watch the show? :P
Go to bed, Quibble.
I just realized something. One reason your attempt to be ambiguous failed has to do with this fandom’s desire to ship. All we needed was Celestia to say that she had a good time, but won’t go for another date with him for us to see that they’re a couple. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the main couple in your Royal Sketchbook series’ Twi and Luna. There’s no romantic chemistry in the show, and the semi-canon of the EQG movies imply Twi to be straight, but you see a bond between Twi and Luna that causes you to ship them. Think about that.
tbf, I’m just the regular sort of clumsy and I’ve given MYSELF a black eye with a bike lock. I’m sure the master of klutzes could manage this easily.
I remain unconvinced
He’s just a clumsy guy.
I mean Jesus that’s a fucking BLACK EYE she’s got there!
Actually in the second and third panels we can see the front edge of her wing right by the joint and there is a large bruise there that wouldn’t have been visible to Cadence until then either. I think what Cadence was inferring was that Troubleshoes used her wing joints has handles to pull her back into his thrusts. First panel she thought they had fought, third panel she noticed the wing joint bruise and thought they fucked.
@armadiloeater
There is one more thing we need to consider, and that’s the love. Love isn’t just romance, and the greatest show of love is letting go.
And? That’s exactly the point: it doesn’t stop you from loving them.
When people marry they don’t think about that fact that one day one of them will have to bury the other.
The fact that Celestia would know she would be the one to do so doesn’t mean she can’t love, come on…
You’re focusing way too much on the death aspect and not enough of being happy living together.
That’s a pretty pessimistic worldview ya got.
