Huh, at first I thought that was sunlight pouring in from slits on a dungeon window. But now that I look at it more closely, you’re right, it is a street lamp. But now this picture makes even less sense than it did before. Why would a street lamp be burning a vampony? They can handle artificial light just fine, it’s only solar light that gives them trouble.

It looks like there’s a street lamp. So it looks like they’re outside more then a dungeon.

The description doesn’t match with the picture at all. For one, that’s clearly a dungeon we’re seeing, not a throne room. For another, Celestia looks sad, not confused. As if she had just sentenced this vampony to die by solar immolation. Another thing I don’t understand is the fact that the vampony is not bound in any way. She could easily move out of the way of the sunbeams, yet she just stays there and lets herself be burnt. Unless…she actually wants to die? If that’s the case, I would say Celestia was sad because she actually wanted to find a way to help Mango. Which would be more true to Celestia’s character. However, Mango insisted on dying while she was still herself.

Imagine trying to pass gas discretely at a party or something if even if you manage an excuse to walk to dark and unoccupied corner of the room you had to contend with a flashy flamethrower coming from your rump.

It’s hard for me to find sympathy for a vampire. I guess I’ll offer one a quick death…
