My understanding is that the Griffonstone united the griffons through their shared greed. It’s similar to the Hobbit, where the greed of the dwarves brought Smaug upon them. This is different from the Crystal Heart which unites the Crystal Empire through love and friendship.

It’s probably best the Griffonstone remains lost.

Considering how the Crystal Empire’s entire existence is dependent on the Crystal Heart, wouldn’t it be funny if returning the Griffon artifact to Griffonstone a prosperous and desireable place to live again?

Then again, Gilda’s concept of friendship and ability to make decent scones could have brought all the griffons back together again. Only time will tell :3
