The pony in black is the ponified version of SCP-049 “Plague Doctor”. And the two zombie-like ponies are SCP-049-2 subjects. These characters are from the SCP Foundation community.
SCP-049 kills a target by touching its throat and then converts them into SCP-049-2 subjects. SCP-049 asserts that SCP-049-2 are cured of a plague.
In some games that have relationships with the SCP Foundation, such as SCP: Containment Breach and SCP: Secret Laboratory, SCP-049-2 subjects are mostly called as ‘Zombies’.
Honestly, when playing Octavia in the Underworld’s Cello, I often think that Bittersweet Nocturne is just like SCP-049 in some cases… Especially when I know the full story of Nocturne and the Underworld’s Cello, I recall a Foundation story (http://www.scp-wiki.net/excerpts-from-the-medical-tragedy-of-dr-bartholomew-artz-aut). It seems that SCP-049 is just like an Alpha-Zombie.

It’s true that zombies, in general, lose a lot of abilities on their own, such as cognitive and logic thinking and a lot of one’s motor functions. I can safely say the zombies in this world can’t use magic or even fly on their own. However, the commands of the Necromancer are able to make them do fairly complex tasks with her coordination. All it takes is for her to awaken their habitual functions of what they’ve done in the past life. It’s a bit of a spoiler, but the dungeon that houses the ponies below the manor were made by group of construction workers that she’s lured and converted. She takes advantage of their former abilities to get what she wants.

In all the zombie games and flicks I’ve seen, zombies acted in their own volition. The go where they want and eat what they please. Their power is in their numbers, and the rate they spread. So wouldn’t they be more frightening if they were… coordinated?

she still has her life. which will be lost shortly i would say.

the dead are worthless soldiers in equestrai. why you ask? when all of pony kind have basicalyl super powers, things that are barely holding together are useless. their forms would shatter very easily.

In order to control the dead, one has to sacrifice so much for that power. Her faded pupils are a symbol of that power. Unfortunately for a lot of ponies, she’s had nothing left to lose before she changed.

Winter is Here
I like the very slight glaze to the eyes of the necromancer. She might not be a full zombie, but she’s certainty not entirely a pony anymore either.
