Applejack, Changeling Hunter
 
We thought we had beaten them and they were gone. We were idiots.
 
The changelings weren’t destroyed, just cast far away. They regathered, they remembered, they sought revenge on Equestria. When enough had regrouped, they closed in on the outlying towns of Canterlot, like Ponyville.
 
Before Ponyville, you encounter Sweet Apple Acres.
 
The CMC were gathered in their clubhouse as usual when the swarm descended. Being the swiftest of the three, Scootaloo was sent to the farmhouse for help. She sped as fast as she could with the screams of her friends chasing her.
 
The remaining Apples engaged in an extremely fierce resistance that broke the swarm’s momentum. At the height of battle, Sweet Apple Acres burned. The massive blaze alerted Ponyville and reinforcements arrived swiftly to smash the swarm apart and send the few surviving changelings into retreat.
 
The victory was bittersweet. Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Granny Smith, and several townsponies, were torn apart in the struggle. Nopony escaped unscathed. Applejack lost an eye. Scootaloo had part of her left wing torn off, forever ended her dreams of flight.
 
Worse than the physical scars were the burdens of guilt carried by Applejack and Scootaloo. Applejack had failed to protect her little sister. Scootaloo blamed herself for the death of her friends and considered herself a coward for leaving them.
 
The threat had not ended, however. The changelings were still out there, as was their Queen. Applejack, now tying her mane with her fallen sister’s scarlet bow, swore to end what the changelings had started. Scootaloo swore to repay for her own failures and refused to leave Applejack’s side. Together, they set out on their shared vendetta.
 
Extermination with extreme prejudice.
