He’s been degraded worse. To me it just sounded like the sort of thing that happens to the luckless character. He’s the type that gets turned into Humdrum, not Zapp.

No. I have the same problem. I believe he should’ve been human, given every other race is human in the world. Not only do I feel it’s degrading, it makes no logical sense since dragons are just as capable of speech and socialization as ponies are. Dogs aren’t.
