Well, you did say “my opinion”, but yeah, I don’t think it’s canon at all. If someone wants to base their headcanon on information from one of these things, then yeah, they can do that, suit yourself and all, but I don’t think it holds any ‘authority’ or canon information. Bottom line, as mentioned, it can easily be disregarded/ignored, and nobody is gonna be able to use it as a citation for anything.
 
There are other things that I could say here, but yeah, my ear is hurting like I mentioned in one of my previous comments, so I’ll keep it short for now.

My opinion on the canonocity of a book is that what happens in the book isn’t canon, but the lore behind them and characters are generally canon unless contradicted. There was a Rockapalooza, but it didn’t happen like in the book.

I’m a little afraid to ask what gets Principal Celestia mad. O__O

They were good at the time (I started watching during season 1), but they really do not hold up compared to seasons 3-5 & the movies.  
But I don’t HATE them. They aren’t THAT bad. This book is just REALLY good.

That is an odd/interesting albeit likely to be extremely controversial opinion you have there though, claiming that this book of all things is somehow better than the earlier parts of the show. Guess you really aren’t a fan of Season 1 and 2, huh? Oh well, I strongly disagree either way.

No they aren’t, and especially this kind. The novel-type ones like the ones GM Berrow write are worth more consideration given their seriousness and higher quality, but this stuff is just filler for the target demographic, and can safely be ignored.

Well said. The only thing I know for sure are canon are every episode of FiM and all the EqG movies. No doubt the 2017 movie will be too. I know it’s silly to say but I kinda have a pretty strong connection to RD and thinking of pairing her with someone else is kinda like…no. I have a newfound respect for Twilight lovers when Flash came around.

Not getting into a conversation right now, if possible, but it’s not like this book or others like it is even remotely canon or anything. The books and especially this kind of book are obscure and really, I wouldn’t give them any more credibility than fanfiction.
 
I’m sure the target demographic will enjoy this book well enough, but for older fans it’s just kind of meh, among other things that could be said about it (not saying nobody will like it, mind you), and can easily be disregarded/ignored as non-canon or alternatively incorporated into your headcanon as desired.

Nah this series says that RD has a crush on someone besides me. Not possible.
