Trixie, Sunset and Starlight are former Twilight’s antagonists (and Trixie is not even really “reformed”, as her sniker shows), Moondancer has never been an antagonist. We saw this four to use complex magics, Moondancer is evidently a good student, but she only used telekinesis in the show.
How I view her relevancy has nothing to do with the frequency of her appearances or popularity; I know she’s more popular than Moondancer and Starlight too. But she has more relevance to Twilight, for the reasons I listed, and also for being a magically apt pony like Starlight and Sunset who once hated Twilight but is now her friend. I don’t think Trixie is Twilight’s friend, but she at least respects her now.
“more relevant than Trixie” , that’s a pretty funny joke considering that Trixie is actually incredibly popular, not only that but Trixie has been around since season 1, had 3 episodes dedicated to her, and appeared in the first and second equestria girls movie.
They are Twilights former rivals and their personalities and backstories complement each other perfectly.
Nothing against moondancer but their is already a moon in this pic and sunset could already be considered the nerd of the group.
Trixie Lulamoon fits perfectly with the time of day theme, and she’s the only other magically talented pony on the show.
She’s more relevant than Trixie, really. At least her mane will match the rest of the group’s, and her name will stick with the nighttime sky theme they have going here.
