you think the writers are really that stupid?
 
it’s literary suicide to write about “god” because then you have no conflict because god can solve every problem, no mystery because god already knows everything, and no challenge because god always wins. then you have to pull out huge plot holes and arbitrary hand waving to make god not do any of that, or you won’t have a story at all.
 
so many people make that mistake…

No, he doesn’t; he has black eyes with a glowy yellow iris– completely different from The Pony Of Shadows.  
…Which couldn’t be Tirek regardless, since TPOS was specifically a legend of Nightmare Moon, something that happening long after Tirek was sent to Tartarus. TPOS was also a literal shadow, not a shadow being cast by something else; those glowing yellow eyes open up inside the shadow on the bookshelf, which is still visible through it.
