Bio:
At the very first glance, one can already see the hatred in Paper Wings’s eyes. He’s a ball of anger and hostility, for the most part, without much room for goodness, and that’s how he likes it. He was born to Frozen Soul and Secret Chord, two stallions he called his fathers up until they split. Paper Wings was young, only just a young colt, and didn’t understand it when he stopped seeing Secret Chord, or why he had to stay with Frozen. Though his parents seemed to fight over him, at age 3, he stopped seeing Secret Chord entirely. Frozen Soul reassured him it was okay, but it wasn’t. It just wasn’t.
Paper Wings began to grow up after his father left with a constant air of hostility. After Frozen Soul met a new stallion, Sweater Weather, Paper Wings grew all the more resentful towards him. Frozen Soul, though he did everything he could to keep Paper Wings happy and though Sweater Weather tried to be a father to him, became the bane of Paper Wings’s existence. He flat-out despised his father, rejecting everything he tried to do for him, and eventually, he began to get violent, having injured both of them multiple times and having been forgiven each time, which only angered him further. And then the new child came, Paper Wings being 5 now. His name was Asriel, and immediately, Paper Wings hated him, too. And so, feeling complete and utter hatred for not only Frozen Soul but also blaming the child as well for taking away his father, he left a couple years later.
Though he was young, he was smart; Paper Wings was able to effectively live off the land, via pickpocketing, digging through trash, even just managing to go without food for days on end, though water wasn’t hard to come by. He wouldn’t let anybody touch him or help him, making it painfully obvious to everybody he needed nobody. He took care of his mane and grooming with random sharp objects, bathed in lakes and rivers, and made his way with nobody but himself. He found solace in the dark of night, admiring the stars, as if wishing on them would change things, but every day he woke up to the same thing. Nothing. Due to the stress, his wing feathers began to shed rapidly, and now, they’re very weak and fragile, unable to lift him off the ground, and he doesn’t feel anything when his feathers fall out, even using them as quills.
His shedding actually helped him to discover his talent as a writer, being able to use them as writing utensils, and he vented a lot of his anger into poetry at first, then rants, then short stories, all of which he burned and ripped out of anger. Although it gave him his cutie mark, the things he wrote made him angry, as if he didn’t even want to have the memories he had or think about how he felt in general.
To this day, he still hasn’t seen Secret Chord again, and goes out of his way to avoid Frozen Soul and Sweater Weather and Ponyville in general. Unfortunately for him, however.. he happened to pick the worst place to scrounge around, Manehattan. It was a perfect place for foraging and pickpocketing thanks to plenty of rich, naive folk and the streets being flooded and busy, but it also happened to be the home of Broadneigh, and little did he know, but his half-brother Asriel had climbed the metaphorical ranks of theatre and now lived in a flat in Manehattan, being relatively well-known for his acting ability. Their confrontation seemed to stop time, and Paper Wings was the first to speak, blaming Asriel, showering him in every ounce of hostility he could, saying everything he hadn’t been able to say in the 19 years it had been. Asriel, though shocked, just told him he understood. He said it wasn’t his fault, he hadn’t chosen to be born, yet he apologised anyways. Paper was outraged, raking his hoof across the other pony’s face before stalking off. Asriel, from then on, made sure to make it routine to check up on Paper Wings every so often. He didn’t like it, not one bit, but he eventually began to tolerate it to the point of not giving Asriel unsightly bruises and cuts whenever he saw him.
In Manehattan, however, Paper Wings managed to tap into his writing talent, writing things based off his life, though adding in fictional bits. His bits began to come in thanks to that, and he was able to afford a small flat, though thanks to his ignorance, managed to pick the same complex his half-brother lived in, making it all the easier for Asriel to bother him. Fantastic, just what he needed. It was okay, though. At least he could lock Asriel out of the flat if he wanted to.
Paper Wings is one of the worst people to be around, due to his anger and hostility. He doesn’t like much, and though he hates being lonely, he wants to be alone. He blatantly refuses any kind of help, attention, or friendship, even though deep down he wants and needs it, longs for it even. Unfortunately for him, he’s rather screwed up mentally, having schizophrenia though he hasn’t been diagnosed due to having not funds for a doctor, and he is very violent if provoked, even if not provoked. Just remember, if one deals with him, his knives are as sharp as his tongue, and he’s not afraid to use either one or both.
