Common disbelief, but comparing brain size like that doesn't necessarily equate to intelligence. It's more dependent on the brain-to-body ratio, when comparing to similar species. There is a higher brain-to-body ratio for animals that we've considered 'smarter' than other animals part of the same species. Basically this means brain size comparisons for intelligence, are inaccurate, especially when we're comparing equines to primates. Ponies from the show should have a relatively high brain-to-body ratio, but that doesn't exactly mean it'll be the same size as a human's.
