Babies and procreation are a sacrifice we personally don’t really wanna make yet.
Whereas Ember is an attractive, feisty yound female who’s likely nowhere near wanting to procreate.

what you are saying is, now there is a new race of alicorns, the alicorn gene seems to be dominant as well.
i refuse to believe that.
the writers have bought themselves some time when celestia and luna didn’t understand the alicorn baby, but they will still have to explain themselves sooner or later

Matter of fact, Celestia and Luna were born alicorns, though you can be forgiven for thinking otherwise. The episode may be factually correct, but it is somewhat misleading. The sticking point is that they say there’s never been an alicorn born in the history of Equestria, but the two princesses predate Equestria. That was confirmed via twitter not long after the episode.

I don’t think people would be annoyed at that explanation, either. Before Twilight got her wings, I think the common assumption was that Celestia and Luna had always been alicorns, and that they were unique in that. It looks like, in canon, they were still unique in that up until Flurry was born. There is an easy explanation for why she was an alicorn at birth; because Cadance is one.

Seriously, Celestia and Luna never had foals. Cadance is, as far as we know, the only alicorn to do so.

My question there is why should Celestia and Luna know why the baby was born an alicorn? It was made clear that not even THEY were born alicorns. What that does is open up room for a potential future story where we learn their past. If they were just born alicorns and explained how it worked thatd just piss people off and give up twice the liberty for people to make alicorn OCs then even the appearance of the baby did.

And everyone knows this fandom thinks alicorn OCs are the literal antichrist and all who make them should be crusified. Ya’ll should be happy xD

I don’t understand people complaining about characters that are designed solely to sell toys. Have you people forgotten this is Hasbro were talking about? Its a TOY company. The mere existence of this show period is purely to sell toys.

You’d think people would know that by now and stop crying and bitching every time a new pretty pink toy-ad appears of screen, but no, 5 years later and apparently shutting up and accepting it is still a challenge.

And furthermore, why does everyone hate alicorns so damn much? Celesta and Luna haven’t been “special” in a long time now. We dont even know if its canon that they are the only alicorns on their planet, only that theyre the only alicorns in their country, and thus the show. There could be hundreds ruling different kingdoms, fulfilling different purposes. Calm down.

One was a character designed solely to market as a toy, and could potentially impact the rest of the franchise, let alone the season. Said character was also born an alicorn and given powers beyond what she should have. The way it was written left even Celestia and Luna in doubt, which goes against what they should know, given their status.
The other was a long-desired example of a female dragon, who was not designed solely to sell toys, and provides an interesting character that shows not all “wild” dragons are unredeemable jerks, and provides Spike with a legitimate dragon friend/potential romance interest (for the shippers who concentrate on canon characters.)
There’s your difference.

^ Pretty much this right here. :)

That’s definitely part of it. I believe Vegeta mentioned that possibility to Nappa in the manga when traveling to earth.

However, in Dragon Ball Super during a non-stupid part, Vegeta admitted Gohan’s potential was admittedly way higher then anyone’s, regardless of half saiyan dna. Goten and Trunks don’t have that rage power afterall, so its origins in Gohan are still unknown. The games often label him as “the Ultimate Half-Breed” or “A Being with Power BEYOND Legend”

Babies with no intent versue a kid with full distress and intent can make a big difference. And its okay to have a child to have power so long as they have the mental and physical trials that come with it. Compared to the easy going Goku, even as a child Gohan had power equivalent to his will to protect his family. If there were any wide-spread complaints about his power, they were short-lived. The kid saw more fighting and death then many veterans by the time he was 12.

Ehh, I’m okay with Roshi. Roshi’s power level is 139 when he’s hiding his power level, 180 when he’s fighting, and 10x that when he sacrifices all his speed for his strength and power to do the MAX POWER Kamehameha. If Piccolo during his training with Gohan could blow up the moon with an energy blast, and Vegeta with 18000 could blow up the earth, it sort of makes sense.

Attacks intended to destroy only vast quantities of area and rock don’t take much of a power level after 1500, although most frieza soldiers that are weaker then Roshi’s Max Power don’t know such techniques. Most of them just carry blasters, so they are likely just from physically strong races and not martial artists with advanced techniques.
