Intelligent discussion? What board are you visiting? The reason I stay out of the vast majority of “discussions” on this site is because they all too often turn into shit-flinging contests where one person misinterprets what someone said and then the next person rises to defend them and gets insulted and the whole mess explodes into a giant flame war where everybody claims they’re right and nobody actually is. It’s obnoxious and rude and more often than not leads to mods deleting posts for violating Rule #0 and in general sowing the seeds of hate across all of Derpibooru.
 
I’m all for intelligent discussions. I’d sure like you to point me to one on this site.

I can’t see anything twisted about if a picture like this encourages intelligent discussion about dragons and their culture and lifestyle.  
It’s a good thing, actually. With how rarely it happens, I wish bronies would think so in-depth about the show all the time. A lot of potential gets ignored here.

That’s… That’s not what I’m saying either. I’m not saying that Dragon’s are Nazis, at least not the modern ones. What I’m saying is that they either have something that functionally works like friendship (but likely weaker than the Pony variety), but they don’t call it that, because even ISIS members has friendships on some level. Or sometime far in the past, there was a successful Naziesque regime that eliminated the concept of friendship from the cultural psyche, because even Somalian pirates have friends of some sort.
 
The second option is right out for obvious reasons, while the first runs into the issue that altruistic cooperation of any sort seemed foreign to Ember so would be a bit of a pothole if brought up later.

With how against I’ve been against dragons in this specific conversation, let’s face it, none of it has been freaking Nazi level.
 
Yeah, they’re idiots about how they treat other races, but it’s clear that their own race isn’t treated as the smartest either. Especially with the MAIN dragon saying EXACTLY that.

Friendship, Friendship everywhere.

I never said nor implied they were nazis, just that both of them share the idea that friendship is “not something we do”.(for example dragons go not inherently hate ponies and they clearly do not want to kill them all(aside for garble, who is admitting of doing it out of a personal vendetta) The dragons clearly know what friendship is, they just don’t do it, or rather, not the way Ponies do.  
Like Garble clearly has a clique he hangs around with, many people would consider them friends, but not ponies, because to them friendship is more than just “some guys we occasionally hang around with”

This is why I prefer Hellticket’s idea that they do have friendships, they just don’t call it that and are far less intimate and open with it. Because the only other option seems to be that they’re successful Nazi’s…

You know, at first i was going to say “I can’t name any at hand” but then an obvious one came to mind, WW2 Nazis. OR rather, it is what they were trying to accomplish(after all they were based on a society that was normal at first). They were comrades, not friends. Friendship was seen as weakness, holding them back from their true goal.
