When nothing is held sacred, anything can be achieved, though everything has it’s cost.
OC concept drawings, and facial expression practice.
Downvoters who don’t comment, I will automatically assume to be jealous and butthurt that they can’t draw as well. I don’t even care if you actually can.. At least have the decency to give some constructive criticism if you’re going to get trigger happy with the red arrow.

Yeah, that’s another good point. I think most people don’t really know how much work a comic is to produce. Having done them myself, I know it’s frustrating to spend 8 hours assembling a comic, only to get a response equal to or lesser than a single image I spent 3 hours on.
True. New artists shouldn’t be discouraged.
I prefer to give a couple of pointers.
If you say something like”Not bad, but try getting ‘x’ & ‘y’ better next time” they learn a little.
One thing that bugs me a little here is comic strips. They’re not judged by art, but by content.
Considering how much work is involved, it’s frustrating when a page that took 9-10 hours to draw scores single figures, and a quick doodle that took 1.5 hours to rattle off gets in the 70s or 80s here.
Yeah I’m not really sure. I don’t like thinking that, because it’s likely not true, but it is possible. I imagine it’s just random people who just have happy trigger fingers when they don’t like some kind of theme or style. I dunno. Still seems rather rude to just click the “I don’t like it” button and give no reason why. Criticism is welcome, but all I ever seem to get aside from upvotes and favs is silent dislikes, which serves no purpose aside from discouragement.
Whenever I post something original, I get downvotes, which is kind of irritating. I posted concept sketches for another of my OC’s and it got 3 downvotes right off the bat. It took like 3 days to get the 5 upvotes it has. I’ve seen younger people post art and it’s in the negatives. That to me, just isn’t right. We shouldn’t be discouraging young/new artists like that.

Agreed on the downvoting.
Personally, I think there’s someone here that’s actually watching my artist tag, just so they can downvote everything I upload.
(Saying that, I do have a handful of uploads with zero downvotes).
Otherwise, I suspect it’s a couple of individuals who think it’s funny to downvote everything. (So… trolls basically).
Ah yeah, I can’t say I’ve read a whole lot of fanfic, but I think I saw one or two things like it. The original inspiration for this oc was actually Alex, from Clockwork Orange.
Also thank you for weighing in with an actual critique, it’s refreshing to see someone say “I don’t like it” and actually give me reasons why. Too many people just blindly downvote and never give any indication to what it is they don’t like. So props to you! :D
Sounds pretty cool, reminds me of some pre-twilicorn fanfiction/art where Twilight would do that sort of stuff, hope it works out for ya.
Yeah, the likeness of Pinkamena was actually accidental here. I have other images of this character in colour, which make him look a lot different. I think I drew his mane a little longer than usual, which probably didn’t help either.
The main idea behind this character is that he’s obsessed with achieving alicornhood via (pseudo)scientific means including some pretty grimdark experimentation. He was created as an antagonist for a storyline I was working with for an RP.
