That’s exactly what I’m about to say. Soarin’s more of an integrated part of the wonderbolts while Dash is still just a newcomer wishing to earn a place. SoarinDash would make a fine romance but IMO SoarinFire is just so much more natural. You could literally imagine these two tell sex jokes and innuendos without the mildest trace of discomfort. And that’s not gonna happen with dash, at least not within a decade or two.

That’s a good point. They should hire more writers that know at least 45% of the show and/or the fanbase (as long as he/she keeps away from the dark side of said fandom)

Yeah, but let’s say you are a new fresh writer who write about Dash dating a guy. Who would be the first stallion to write her with if you haven’t seen the comics and only based it on tv show? Soarin feels kind of like a part of the wonderbolt “crowd” along with Fleetfoot and Spirfire. Her bonding episode only happened with either Daring Do or Quibble Pants. Her only romantic subplot so far is Zephyr Breeze hitting on her in one sided way. It isn’t as fleshed out as Discord being an obvious guy for Fluttershy episode or Cheese Sandwich being an obvious guy for Pinkie.

I’m sorry but i have to disagree on that part. Almost every season has an exposure towards them: the gala, cadence’s wedding, when soarin got hurt and Rarity Investigates.
 
And ff36 was the one with the most shipping fuel towards soarindash and they did it right. It wasn’t forced like EQG. They actualy had character development. Like i said, idw had a ton of great ideas that would suit very well into the show

Doesn’t really matter if he is few years older, younger or same age. Not like age differnece was ever a barrier seeing how popular discoshy became in shipping. The only problem between SoariDash was always the lack of exposure and their relationship being undeveloped to the point of people seeing more SoariFire as possibility.
