“An’ Ah bet Granny din’t bring mah epi pen neither.”
I have standards. Even though I like bee stings, I don’t find anaphylatic shocks either amusing or arousing. So, no thank you.
Actually, an even better analogy would be getting a glass splinter out of your finger by dousing it in hydrochloric acid. The acid will destroy everything except the splinter since glass is immune to the acid, which is why beakers and the like are made of glass.
Apparently this swelling is caused by the mast cells producing substances that react to general proteins, which irritates regular cells causing them to swell to 1,000 times their normal size. Really, mast cells are useless, it’s like trying to stop a bar fight with a tsar bomb.
At least you won’t die, unlike AB.
It’s not really an allergy, but I have a bigger than normal reaction to fireant bites, they’re pretty rampant here in the southeast too. I got bit once when my family and I were out camping during summer. I was asleep in the tent when it happened.
I can relate. My hands were on fire and really red for a while. We learned to start camping during the cold days and invest in better tents.
Poor AB.
I actually came here to make this comment, so this :p
For you:
I’m sure they wouldn’t have stang her.
The weirdest part about what I just wrote is that it makes sense in the context of the show…
I know someone who’d agree: https://youtube.com/watch?v=GJb7ed3ueLk
Allergic reactions from bee stings are not to be laughed at. A single bee sting can cause a person’s airways to swell shut. This is lethal most of the time without treatment.
Yes, it means a single bee sting to some people will cause them to suffocate due to their body’s inability to handle it.
From what I’ve heard, bee allergies are usually quite deadly.
I actually forgot all about season 2 ever since the 6th season started and now I didn’t even notice this scene in that episode for years, so good eye on that.~
