Um… Thank you for trying to explain, but I’m afraid that went way over my head. And… kinda made it hurt.

The short of it, is that it’s what should be a very emotional and painful moment, but Buckly formatted it exactly the same as all his other comics: intro, setup, expectation, gag. CAD was/is a comedy strip only; for someone reading the comics as they’re posted, the whole thing is incredibly out of place, and up to the very last panel you’d be expecting a joke at the end.
 
Basically loss.jpg jokes aren’t about making fun of miscarriage, but about how poorly CAD’s author handled such a topic.
