Doesn’t explain why a Changeling would be so dismissive of Friendship and Love’s weaponizability in this universe. Multiple deific Villians got their asses kicked by it. This isn’t a matter of philosophy anymore, but pure pragmatism.

They walk in there, Rarity is horrified and shocked at something. Fluttershy just perks an eyebrow like; “I don’t know a whole lot about magic, especially stasis spells, but I don’t think they involve guillotines. So why is there one for each of us?”
 

 
We’ve seen Twilight try to give them sleeping pills secretly - probably before stasising them. So we know she’s willing to use tricks to try to make it easier. So maybe she really doesn’t care about the prophesy and the stasis is just to A) make them not resist as hard, and B) to keep up the appearance to any actual ponies that she cares about the prophesy.
 
Or C), maybe aware of their past exploits, the changeling fears she’ll be defeated if she tries to kill them, so really is just having them stasis’d, so as to not tempt fate as much.
 
Just guessing, though. Seems like if there was a time to reveal her buginess it would’ve been the punch - At least narrative-wise. From Doppleganger-Twi’s perspective there’s no real reason to reveal it there.
 
*Some’a y’all have been saying the artist hates Twi, but I don’t really see the signs of it in their other art. They seem to like her as much as the rest of the mane six. So I dunno.

Consider her portrayal here. Seriously consider it. There is absolutely NOTHING related to Twilight in it. She isn’t even capable of being shown as tragic, or intelligent. She’s just a Bond villain doing Bond villain things, and anyone who says anything sympathetic about Twilight is portrayed as stupid and naive despite the theme of the show. Indeed, Gashi goes out of his way to write Twilight committing mass executions just to drive home how EEEEEEVIL she is despite Twilight always placing ORDER first, even at her worst moments.
