I don't really see it, to be honest.
 
Nyx's color palette may be unusual, but it's the complete opposite of Rei's. Also Nyx never had Rei's problems with displaying emotions or making friends.
 
Unless you're talking about their respective origins (Nyx being created from Nightmare Moon, like Rei was created from Lilith), Rei and Nyx don't have much in common.
