Pretty much. Nowadays, many of the classic games go for such unreasonable amounts of money that you’re better off with repros or collection discs on modern platforms.
No kidding, before then games were dirt cheap in thrift stores, Goodwills, yard sales and flea markets if a person looked enough. Sure, some were $2.99 but others could be 49 cents, even ones that are now going for hundreds on eBay (Power Blade 2 is one I had a copy of. I sold it for $35 though, no regrets even though it was going for $90 or so at the time I sold it.) I had fun collecting mostly from 2003-2006.

There is that. Youtube personalities have shone a light on many forgotten classics… And inflated the price of many games on eBay.
Power Glove!
It’s so bad!
Yeah, that’s where I learned of this pile. sigh I miss the old AVGN 2006-2010. Used to look forward to his episodes and we would always run out and get fresh pizza to eat while watching a new episode. He greatly expanded my vocabulary. My favorite will always be the NES Friday the 13th episode, has my favorite rant.
@YukoAsho
Most people only learned the existence of that game from AVGN.
It was a Jag exclusive. VERY few people played that thing.
