Well, it’s a pirate ship and Joyride is working for the pirates and Emerald is joyride’s “apprentice”. So there was some speculation on that, if the pirate raid goes wrong.

agreed the last movie really was weak. lets hope the next one is “better.”
From a film-making standpoint, as well as a literary one, the entire visual metaphor of these people forming a “choir of the damned” works very well.
There’s one shot in particular, when all five of the adults at the gallows have just started singing, and the camera holds in just the right angle so that they’re made to look like a chior performing on a stage.
It’s actually a rather strong and powerful metaphor for how silly of a movie came to follow.
