Better? DS9 was worse than TNG, then we got even worse Voy. Enterprise was brief return to form, but a lot of so called “fans” hated on it as it tried something new so they forced cancellation before it cold really become the best Trek. So, I disagree here.
Nuuuuu, long live the ponies!
I wouldn’t even have minded MMC as a series finale.
Exactly my point. The staff thought that would be the series finale, but they were allowed to continue making new episodes after it was finished, and they managed to actually make the show better, unlike with spongebob.
@Background Pony #0B9D
Why would you want that?
I realized that and corrected myself in later comment.
Supposed series finale? How so? The only MLP season finale that felt like a series finale to be was Magical Mystery Cure.
Star Trek kept going and arguably got better.
Granted, they did switch cast with TNG, DS9, etc., but still.
You must be confused. Season 6 will premiere in 2 weeks. The movie isn’t set to be released until November 3rd next year.
@Registered Anon
If that happens, let’s hope they don’t pull a spongebob, though I highly doubt they will considering the fact that they managed to continue making increasingly better episodes every time the show had a supposed series finale.
on the other hand there is time for another season inbetween.
Like the SpongeBob movie, right? They’ll keep going with increasingly bad episodes and writer turnover, but the movie will always be the canonical finale?

The movie is supposedly coming out November 3rd 2017 and season 6 will release March 26th 2016 so yeah, it looks like S6 will be done way before the movie comes out.
I am betting on the series continuing after the film, but for Season 6, that’s probably gonna end around a year before the film actually comes out.
Not what I’d want, just thought it would be an unusual direction to take the series.
