Huh..if this is grimdark imagine when we show them the true question o humanity in the visual of the concentration camps, getthos, and death camps of the Holocaust will make the urban battles (other than that of the Eastern Front on the European front) miniscule in sickness

Too be fair that appears to possibly be footage of the taking of Berlin which was marked by rape, murder, and pointless vengeful blood letting on a scale that’s difficult for even the modern person to comprehend. About the only more shocking material you could cover would be the actual death camps.

Lotta folk think that Equestrias magnificent. But it’s not, yet for all of this, I stil like this image for one simple reason. It’s Twilight, and shes sad. Not because there’s war, she probably knows what it is. But because so many died.

Equestria’s an idealistic society, even at its most cynical. And what battles we’ve seen have used non-lethal weapons. The idea of death on that scale, happening that many times, would probably shock and horrify characters this innocent even if it’s capable of happening in their world too.

  1. “Is there some sort of epic pony war in the distant future or something?!” By this line it can be determined that that Twilight understands the concept of war, meaning ponies FOUGHT WARS at least in the past. Why would the idea of another sentient species fighting wars horrify her if her own species did so?
     
  2. Her brother is the Captain of the Royal Guard, something that has always been a military position. The guards themselves on the surface at least, appear to be soldiers. They wield weapons and apparently receive combat training. In addition, Rainbow compares her tortoise to a tank, hence the name. I can be deduced that Equestria has an army, or at the very least some kind of defense force. What would you need an army for if everything was all peaceful and hunky dory?

They/she understand(s) the concept of war. Her brother is in the military, and being a history buff I’m sure there was plenty of strife between equestria’s various beings before things became more civilized.
