The Inner Eye:
by: The CLaUD:
Here in the land of madness; place where beauty doesn’t die,
Faced with my inner demons, gaze averted from the sky,
He sits above as I retreat, and knows my every lie,
Watched over by my own damn inner eye.
Here in the land of hatred, where I stop to wonder why,
And, faced with all my choices, there I fight the urge to cry,
For up above He’s always there, no matter what I try,
Watched over by my judging inner eye.
Here in the land of ancients, O’ so hot and flat and dry,
I wonder, O’, what use there is, in trying to be shy,
If He shall always witness me, despite how fast I fly,
Watched over by my prying inner eye.
Here in the land of madness; place where beauty comes to die,
My demons faced, my gaze upturned, defiant towards the sky,
I look above, He looks to me, I speak my every lie,
And I stare down my own damn inner eye.
