someone was asking how pony manes compare to human hair and basically I just kept fucking going and made this. hopefully it helps someone with something :I

Oh I understand that perfectly fine, I just wanted to do a study on it to see if it helped me or other people figure this shit out. The biggest mane problem I personally have is trying to shade pinkie’s hair with anything but a cartoony style
your current filter.Fluttershy or Rarity too. Their hair is a clean line down the center, flopped poofily over to the side. It’s even visible on Pinkie from the right angles (this not being one of those angles.)

like sweetie belle, she’s gotta have scalp hair right? it’s huge! but when you look, they practically sprite flip her hair just to make it attach in the center. most of the ponies with “human” hair just have huge bangs, but their hair attaches from poll to withers just like a horse. any shot of applejack from behind, for instance.
They seem to use a mix.
Only after the first season, really.
