And That’s the reason I mostly play Sonic in Smash Run. >:D
That post makes me feel sad for Sonic. Once upon a time he was cool…
That’s actually the reason why Sonic 360 was released early. XD
Like I said, perhaps you’re right, but if it were so irrelevant why even bother with a delay? Just sell it as is and scrape what you can?
If it were something else, they’d just release two books. Instead we’re getting one about the adventures of Bon Bon and Lyra while this effectively gets bumped off the schedule.
Though this may not be ultimately correct, according to Itsthinking the book is scheduled for Jan 10, 2017 having e-mailed the publisher about this. If the book has been ready for at least half a year, then to delay it for nearly an additional year for no apparent reason would seem slightly suspect, if only because of the idea that Trixie would be relegated to second tier merc and fandom works as you suggested. (No disrespect meant)
AFAIK we’ve not been given a date, and I wouldn’t assume a flat “closer to movie = more sales” regardless of other factors.
As far as I’m concerned the character’s canonically written off and relegated to 2nd-tier licensed merch (at best) and fandom stuff.
I’m not very knowledgeable of book sales and book scheduling but if it comes down to a low sales gap, shouldn’t the fact that its being released in closer proximity to the 2017 movie also be a factor?
You gotta have faith.
<thinks about making a smart remark, decides against it>
@Background Pony #A078
Extremely doubtful. AFAIK they just saw that background characters like Lyra are more popular now and want to capitalize on that while S05 is still fresh. The book was likely written half a year ago and just pushed to the first low-sales date gap because “eh, who cares”.
No idea the likelihood of that or how much the books would be impacted by that but I’m curious just what is running through the execs when they make these kind of calls.
Perhaps she’ll have a big role in S6 and they want to use that to sell books?
