Everyone forgets his freckles D:

I always thought a Spike, Snips and Snails episode could be neat. Spike had several episodes now where it was shown Twilight and her friends appreciate him and that he can do important things. Why not have one where he can finally teach somepony else that they don’t need to be stuck in the role of scrappy comic relief?
I doubt we’ll ever get an episode about these two, but it’s an interesting idea. Give them a goal they want to accomplish, something truly important to them. Then watch them start to become more than fools as they try to find a way to accomplish it.
Well, what else can they do but play the fools? They’re not book smart from what we’ve seen so far, they’re not good-looking, they’re hardly ever included in any fun activity we see the other foals share, and most of their class seems to dislike them.
They get death glares when trying to become something above their station, something more than class clowns. The only times they get positive attention is when they look like idiots. Ponyville Confidential even noted that Snips was considered the “biggest jokester in school”. And while that may not sound immediately bad, it’s also quite telling.
You are town dunces.
I think they helped her clean up, and guarded her cart.
It’s a shame, really. These two are so undeveloped. They could’ve been like Bulk and Skull…starting as buffoons and ending up as heroic individuals.
Sadly that happen sometimes, even life lessons can take a while to sink in and may even need to be repeated multiple times.
Me: “Harsh.”
Nice to see some development for two characters often playing the fools. A shame we hit the reset button by comic’s end.
Yeah but they’re pals with him now so it’s cool.
