Takuto speaks truth, to be a bronies is to be ALL ABOUT background extras, bit parts, and one-shot characters. I myself still carry a torch for Gilda.

I don’t understand why they bothered changing her eyes when they continued to put her in the background with derpy eyes.

Personally? I prefered her new voice, simply because it made her sound more “ditzy”, which is possibly her canon namesake.
 
What annoyed me was the underping of her eyes and removal of her name because it was a FAN SHOUTOUT. It’s one thing to change her voice, it is another thing to completely erase the fact that the company decided to give back to their fans.

Personally, I love Derpy either way. I think she’s cute, lovable, silly, clumsy, and that’s all what makes her who she is. As far as the changes go, I like both voices, but I do feel that the second one sounded cuter. But with her eyes, I liked them wall-eyed. I don’t mind to see them perfectly aligned sometimes.
 
Thing is, this is a character that the fandom basically gave birth. They - we - picked a single background character, gave her a name and an identity. And Hasbro gave her to us as shout out and thanks for our support.
 
It was the so-called “soccer moms” and haters of the show and fandom that lashed out stating that she was offensive. I still love and support Derpy as she is, wall-eyes and straight, first voice and second, I still love that little pegasis.
 
And if doing so is offensive, then dang it I’d rather be offensive.

Could concede the points made about her name,everything else assumed by those who made noise about the scene is just asinine in my opinion.

^And before anyone asks I’m not talking about derpibooru or ponibooru. It’s another board I was talking about.

I don’t really have a problem with the edited version or her new voice. In fact her new voice sounded cuter. My major problem was with the people who were calling everyone who likes derpy ableist or such. A board I frequent we got in a big slapfight where it was just a utter total trainwreck with the bronies on one side and the non-bronies were just hammering on the insults and using how people like derpy to try and get mlp banned outright(except for those complaining about it) from the board claiming that bronies were discriminating against the disable and were just absolutely abusing the flagging system not giving a care about whether or not it was actually a rule breaking.  
I think that trainwreck alone on the website got me like 10 false flags against me alone.  
They may have had a point, but it was lost with how utterly hate filled and mean and cruel spirited and insulting their side was acting.  
It didn’t help either that a staff member was on their side and basically treating the flamewar like anybody against derpy could say whatever they wanted or just steam roll the rules, but anyone in favor of derpy would just get utterly destroyed by a ban hammer if they did the same thing.  
They were acting so self righteous like, “my opinion is infallible and anyone that disagrees is guilty of discrimination”.
 
I mean if you were to take that whole slapfight and take mlp out of it how could that not piss you off if someone was acting like that much of a self righteous asshole on a soapbox just spewing forth everything vile from their mouths at you and you were barely allowed to swear in return. How could that not piss you off?
