Well, not nothing, just less significant that it was made out to be originally.
 
Prior to the Android Saga in Dragon Ball Z and season two’s finale of MLP:FiM, there seemed to be only one Super Saiyan [excluding Broly in the movies] and two princesses who happened to be alicorns in existence at any one time in their respective series.
 
Now there are… Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks, Goten, and different levels of Super Saiyan up to Super Saiyan God in the Dragon Ball franchise. In Friendship is Magic, now there are five princesses apparently: Celestia, Luna, Cadance (from the season two finale), Twilight Sparkle (from the season three finale), and now Flurry Heart.

And just like Super Saiyans in Dragonball, the title of alicorn officially means nothing now
