Introductory Bio
Long before her birth, the debate of which royal child inherited the thrown had been a particularly popular subject among the crystal empire’s inhabitants. Should it be the courageous and noble Diamond Shield? Or the merciless and bold Crystal Spear? Both were soldiers, however lacked the responsibility to handle the throne. After the opening of “Sombra’s Box”, the two royals were held accountable for a drastic plague that wiped out almost a third of the empire’s children populace. This, of course, did not help either royal gain any popularity from the public. The debate soon died out after that…
Then came the birth of Serenade, “the princess who should’nt be alive”. At the age of a mere few hours, the filly had caught the crystal plague that grew leeching crystals all over the surface of her delicate fur. She was monitered day and night, yet her condition only grew worse. Slowly, her body became encassed in a coffin of jagged crystals.
At the time, the crystal empire was negotiating peace with the inhabitants of Queen Chrysallis’s hive. At day three of the princess’s illness a changeling ambassador was sent to the royal family. With him, he brought an antidote that would keep Serenade alive for the next decade and a half, and save over a third of the empire’s population. In exchange of such a substance, Princess Serenade would be wed with Prince Morpho of the changelings in order to form a blood-bond between the two nations. After much discussion, Princess Cadence and Prince Shining agreed. To this day the only remainder of Serenade’s near-death experience is a delicate patch of bare skin on the bridge of her muzzle.

Princess Evening Serenade, much to her parents’ dismay, is most certainly not traditional. She is blunt, has vocabulary worse than a sailor’s, and terribly admant in all her decisions. Rebellious and loud, she is often described as the cupid’s devil by her subjects. (affectionately, of course) After recieving her cutie mark she immediately became the crown heir of the Crystal Empire. Though some interpret her upside-down crystal heart as a sign of misfortune, the fact that she bears the nation’s symbol at all undeniably marks her for greater things. Serenade posseses an unusually good judge of character, and has a way of easily earning the trust of others. She is, however, a coward when facing dire situations. Her body is built for nothing more than running, always leaping further and further from her demons that are always one hoofstep behind.
