If you want to be purely technical, its to akira’s credit that he wrote dbz well enough to get an anime AND to his credit that he, a mangaka author, wanted to be a voice director and assigned a lot of questionable roles, allowing the eng dub to overshadow the japanese dub.
The DBZ anime would of been made with or without those 2 as the original dub voices, and the english dub wouldn’t of turned out much differently. I have enough faith in the japanese anime industry that a professional voice director/caster could of picked voices just as well or significantly better.
They didn’t draw much inspiration from the original dialogue, and that ironically was part of what made their careers.
*they as in these dubbers in this uploaded picture
Also, I only watched Dragon Ball in Filipino.
Masako Nozawa || 野沢 雅子 and Ryo Horikawa || 堀川 りょう
Without these two, they wouldn’t have careers.
The galaxy isn’t small, y’know?
