The trick is in that button beneath the tags that says “embed this image”.
For on-site images, what you do is take the image number, in this case 1069731, put >> in front of it and either a t or a p behind it. So you’d get >>1069731p for example.

For off-site images you right-click on the image, copy image url, paste that into the comment box with a ! at the front and end. So for example !http://i.imgur.com/VjVLY1p.jpg! which gets you
in your comment preview.

Indeed. The trick is to just copy the whole thing, paste into the comment box, and then put the exclamation points before the “http” or whatever it says, and then at the end; before typing anything else.
This is a very confusing code.

Just put an “!” on each end of the URL and it should work better.
