She’s the only one I could see venturing far from the farm. Marble is too timid, and Limestone is more focused on running the place. Maud is more of an abroad character anyway, what with her rocktorate and all.

I suspect Maud’s fairly frequent speaking roles (by background character standards) are partly because she’s voiced by Tara Strong, and therefore it’s very easy to write Maud in without worrying about the voice actress being unavailable.
