On top of the fact that what they did to earn their cutie marks was something they put no thought into. So, now that they have them, they were beginning to overthink their talent. And, the whole dynamic of their club had to do with getting their talents. So, now the CMC have to learn to be friends for the sake of being friends, instead of the club defining their friendship.

Well, if a pony just didn’t worry about what his/her special talent would be, and just did what came naturally to him/her and figured it out one day, it’s very unlikely that getting a cutie mark would cause this dilemma. They pretty much obsessed over getting their cutie marks so much, that every activity they did from the establishment of the CMC and onward was forced. They didn’t really do those things for fun. They did them to get their cutie marks. It turned out that their cutie marks had nothing to do with those activities. So, now that they have them, they don’t have a reason to do the things that they put that faith into. Which, happened to be leisurely activities that they wouldn’t have a drive to do if they didn’t have that reason. Their friendship was even based on this. It’s really just their problem. But, it was resolved in the episode.
